Abbey Howard specializes in fine jewelry and clumsy elegance. Under the name MAMA, she blends high and low using the permanence of jewelry materials to create ironic reflections of the artifacts created by throw away culture. Pieces highlight the mundane, universal and sometimes domestic forms that can connect each of us.

Materials are recycled and reused as often as possible with an awareness to use vintage or repurposed gems and recycled metals. An attempt to waste less and be considerate of our deeply flawed field of manufacturing and mining.  

MAMA Jewelry is designed and hand fabricated in Brooklyn, NY. Her practice started in  her hometown of Philadelphia, PA a few months after having her son, whilst finishing her degree in Jewelry Design from Pratt Institute.  

MAMA'S bespoke work is often made to highlight and reuse materials and stones.
